Science and Math are my favorite subjects. I have a cute dog named Mollie. If you scroll to the bottom of this page, you can see her.

Now that I have introduce myself to you, tell me one or two important facts about you. Also tell me what you hope to learn this year.

YOU ASK.... YOU GOT IT!

This is what the inside of an airplane looks like. The steering wheel is a little different than a car's wheel. Not only does the wheel turn left and right, but if you pull the wheel the plane nose (the front of the plane) will go up, and if you push the wheel in, the nose of the plane will start to go down. Also notice all the gages. Everyone of the gages is very important. To become a pilot you must know what each one means. Talk about a lot of studying!

Parts of an Airplane

The next two weeks we will be reading "To Fly: The Story of the Wright Brothers". The Wright Brothers' airplane was very simple compare to airplanes today. However they still have the same parts (tail, body and wings.) Below are some photos of an airplane. This is a modern day airplane. Look at the pictures and see if you can guess which photo is the rudder, and the hangar. See if you can name the other pictures.

Presidents' Day

This week, we have learned about our country's first president and sixteenth president. Both Washington, and Lincoln shared many characteristics such as honesty, responsibility, and courageousness. Washington was honest when he cut down the cherry tree, and told his father the truth, and Lincoln was courageous and took action to free the slaves. Many times, both presidents wanted to give up, but they never did. They were determined!
  • Do you think that you share some of these characteristics?
  • If so, how do you show others that you have these characteristics?
  • Are there characteristics that you think Lincoln, and Washington had, that you wish you could have?
  • Please type your blog answering all these questions
